What is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art. It is primarily practiced around the world for health benefits, but it is also used in competitions and in combact schools for self defense. It is also known as tai chi chuan or taijiquan.
There are several styles of Tai Chi such as Chen, Yang, Wu, Sun, etc. Most people who learn will either find themselves in a Yang style school or a Chen style school.
Which style should you learn?
This website focuses on Yang style but it does not matter. It is a matter of personal preference. If you are starting out, research styles on YouTube. You can see the main differences between the main Tai Chi Styles. Then you can make a choice. Since Yang style is the most widely taught it is probably the easiest to find an instructor to learn from.
